2021 HINO SCMA Entry Form

Nominations are now open for the 2021 HINO Supercars Media Awards.
The Awards are for work undertaken between 27 October 2020 to 31 December 2021

Journalist of the Year

The winner is the (print or digital) journalist to have best displayed all-round skills in crafting news, feature stories and other content within the last twelve months. Nominees must submit three examples of their work for consideration.

Photographer of the Year

The best photographer will be the (Supercars accredited) Photographer who supplies a portfolio of five images of their work from the past twelve months, which broadly showcases their range of ability, composition skills, creativity and technical ability.

Broadcaster of the Year

Awarded to the broadcaster best judged to have provided the most outstanding broadcast commentary or presentation on TV, Radio, Podcast, or on-course ‘Big Screen’ throughout the past 12 months.

Media Manager of the Year

This award will be presented to the PR or Media Manager to have produced the most outstanding effort in Public Relations for the past twelve months. Nominees will need to detail the efforts, demonstrating the undertaking required and the outcomes returned.

Best Supercars news story

The winner will be the journalist (print or digital) judged to have broken a story of significance to the sport within the past twelve months. The winning submission will be judged on impact, accuracy, and significance or importance to the sport in general.

Best Supercars feature story

The winner will be the journalist (print or digital) judged to have crafted and had published the most outstanding feature story relating to the sport within the past twelve months.

Best Supercars radio program/podcast

The winner will present their Podcast or Radio program covering the sport for consideration. The award scope is broad, the program could be feature related, news-breaking, analysis content or an interview format. Broadcaster can nominate one (1) program that fits the criteria.

Best On Track Photo

The best single action photograph requires series accredited photographers to supply one image of their choice which broadly defines ‘On Track’, be it a car in motion, an on-track incident or another form of action at their definition. The winner will be judged on the capture, it’s impact as a photograph, its uniqueness and composition.

Best News or Feature Photo

The best news or feature photograph will be judged on the planning / staging of the photo and how it is utilised for feature content, news / PR content or otherwise. This could be a portrait image, a studio shoot, track-related content or otherwise. Photographers can nominate one (1) image that fits the criteria.

Best Feature, Promotional Video or Television Program

The Best Feature, Promotional Video or TV program category covers content produced covering the sport throughout the past 12 months, which can be related to the broadcast, a stand-alone magazine program or a dedicated documentary piece related to the sport from the last 12 Months. Broadcaster can nominate one (1) program that fits the criteria.

Best In-Broadcast or Digital Feature/News Story

This category seeks the creative moments expressed in a short self-contained broadcast or digital feature aired or produced in the past 12 months. It could include a segment within a broader show, a stand-out program introduction, a moving interview or an innovative piece of digital media content. Broadcaster can nominate one (1) program that fits the criteria.

Best Supercars PR Stunt or Activation

This award will be presented to the individual or group to have produced the most outstanding single specific event or activation over the past twelve months. Nominees will need to detail the effort in question, the goals of the activity and the outcomes returned.

Most Outstanding Use of Social or Digital Media: Media Outlet

This award will be presented to the accredited media outlet who has best used Social / Digital media to enhance their coverage of the sport. This may be their use of Facebook / Twitter / Instagram / YouTube across a broad period of time, or a more specific event or moment.

Most Outstanding Use of Social or Digital Media: Team or Individual

This award will be presented to the accredited member of the media, PR / Digital Media expert or group to have best used Social / Digital media to promote their enterprise. This could be the efforts of a race teams PR or digital media manager, a driver or driver PR personnel or an event media / digital team promoting their own efforts.

Best publication (Print or Online) reporting on Supercars

The best publication will be judged on its broad impact on the sport, the quality of content produced across the past twelve months.
