About

During the 2012 V8 Round at Winton, a number of Journalists started to talk about having a lunch with other members of the media to celebrate the end of another long season. During these ramblings, it was also suggested that as a “Media Group” we fail to recognise and acknowledge the excellent work of our colleagues.

To that end, Tony Schbeci, Grant Rowley, Craig Revell and Peter Norton have combined to establish the V8 Media Association (V8MA). The immediate goal is to establish the lunch following the Sydney 500 and determine award categorise which will be voted for by the members of the V8MA.

We have written to you to invite you to join the V8MA, and to encourage your participation in our social functions and to help in the determination and preparation for the awards.

We have also decided that the V8MA should support the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia. Because every journo has, at sometime had someone stick it to them, but at least when the Doctor does it, he is trying to help you!

If you are interested in joining the V8MA as well as joining us for the lunch and have any ideas of how we can acknowledge the work of the V8 Media please let us know.

Disclaimer: The V8MA is not associated with V8 Supercars, it has no commercial interest in V8 Supercars or any of its teams. It is an independent body established to organise a piss up and congratulate excellent work. It is not intend to publicly represent the views of Journalist or photographers involved in the sport, but may if called upon to provide advice to private stakeholders.
