Fogarty takes three gongs in 2013 V8 Media Awards

Mark Fogarty (AutoAction/Fairfax Media), Bill Tuckey and Mike Kable have been announced as the three inductees into the V8 Media Association Hall of Fame.

The announcement was made at the second annual V8 Media Association Awards, held in Homebush on Friday night.

Tony Schibeci (SEN) hosted the awards dinner, which featured a touching tribute to Jon Evans, who passed away last week after a long illness. V8 Supercars chaplain Garry Coleman and colleagues Garry O’Brein (Auto Action), Allan Edwards (V8X Magazine) and Fogarty (Auto Action/Fairfax Media) spoke about Evans, regarded as one of Australian motorsport media’s most respected journalists.

Over 50 members of the media voted in this year’s awards, which also saw Fogarty take away two other awards, included 2013 Journalist of the Year and equal Best News Story of the Year, with Auto Action’s Lewis Isaacs.

James Phelps received his first V8 Media Awards, with his Sunday Telegraph feature on colourful V8 team owner Betty Klimenko.

Richard Craill took out the Best V8 TV/Track Commentator/Personality for the second year in succession, while Schibeci received the Best Radio/Podcast award for his SEN program On The Grid. Nissan Motorsport’s Grant Rowley was awarded the best PR representative.
